I see this is really old im sure you figured it out by now , i had the same problem i just had too turn DHCP off and let it grab an ip address. In my case another device had previously been using the same ip address and i had an ARP cache problem it was telling me another device was using the same ip address but it really wasn't i may have been doing some ARP poisoning trying to find a leak anyways that was my problem sort of, setting it to grab its own ip adresss , personally i just use a wireless router in client mode so i have 3 ethernet connections for my whole room , and im not paying 100 for a wireless adapter.
