Wpa Security Not Detectable?
« on: February 03, 2020, 02:24:00 PM »

Hi, my issue is that I'm using a wireless xbox adapter to play on 360, I've done it before with no issues when I was logged into a network with 128-bit WEP security. I'm now trying to get into a network that uses WPA-TKIP security, but when I click on the proper SSID on the network connections in the Xbox dashboard, it is reading as WEP, and asking me for the WEP key. Clearly I don't have a WEP key, as it's WPA security, all I have is the WPA passkey set by the owner of the house/network. I've try to pull up the network by using the "specify unlisted network" option, when i type in the SSID it still only allows me to choose WEP 64 or 128. Any ideas or tricks?

Try this:
"Restore the factory defaults on the wireless networking adapter. When you go to the System area of the Xbox Dashboard to restore the factory defaults, the adapter status light will blink green and red, and then turn solid red to indicate that the defaults have been restored."
Also, does the owner of the network have MAC filtering turned on?
