Straight to modem

Straight to router

Use a regular ethernet cable with these connections, not the crossover cable.

have you tried connecting the xbox directly to the router via an ethernet cable? Or you could use a Zyxel router which has a bridging mode. Connect the xbox to the Zyxell (in bridging mode) which connects wirelessly to your present wireless router.

i think your router is not an xbox live compatible router and is causing you connection problems. if you dont want to use the wireless router, then your going to have to buy a new router
