One-for-all Remote Config For Xbmc?
« on: December 07, 2004, 03:56:00 PM »

In the XBMC manual, there is a section that someone added about a config file they set up along with a keymap file for the xmbc, that when put together, make a great XMBC remote.  However, the files don't seem to be located anywhere I can find.  Am I missing them somewhere?  I'd love to set this up.

No need. If you bought right ;)

My O4A, check my link in my sig, works fine. I used the MS Dvd code, and voila, perfect. There ae some keys i moved around using the keymover function of the remote to make it even better.

just use the MS code. What remote did  you get?

i also have a one for all remote...

i'm pretty sure the MS dvd code is the same as the rca dvd code (wich i used..)

try with 0522, 0571, 0717

if you find out the model try this link to find codes : http://www.ofausa.com/advanced_search.php

also try here for manuals: http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofaold/index.html

im gonna look at my remote to see where the model # is located.... brb

edit: the only place the model # is located is at the back of the remote (wich you said was rubbed off.) and on the manual that you lost....

anyways... try this if you can...

-press and release device key (i use my xbox with the vcr key...)
-hold down set (or maybe a similar button) till led blinks twice, then release
-enter the 4-digit code (try with 0522, 0571, 0717)
to try out, press the device button and try to move around the xbmc menu with the directions buttons....

The M$ playback kit code is "0522" using the DVD Function
But to get more functionality out of the remote, you would have to enable the remote code viewer in the xboxmediacenter.xml (Forgot what the tag is called since my Xbox is "Out-of-service" for a little)

i know i can get the basic functionality, i already have that.  but in the manual someone talks about a remote config file that when used with the keymap file he made gives you a much more powerfull xbmc setup.  that's what i'm looking for.
