2 Xbox 360's Playing Halo 3 Online On Same Internet
« on: February 28, 2008, 04:48:00 PM »

Ok I have 2 xbox 360's logged onto xbox live (different gamer tags) at same time. I have 2 legal Halo 3 games. Now my son's want to play against each other (and other people) online but they cant seem to connect to each other. They both can play other people online at same time but not each other. Also they cannot get the system link to work either with each other.
Son # 1 is connecting with a wireless adaptor.
Son # 2 is connected with ICS through his computer (which is connected to the internet with a wireless card)

Confused yet?

Anyway it comes up with Nat is open error when they try to connect online and no error with system link. They just can't see each other.

Whew got all that out.

Any help be great.

Thanks

so the second xbox connects through ICS? that can create problems with system link in itsself. also i beleive your problem lies with both consoles having the same IP address.

why not just play split screen? halo 3 supports it over LIVE

A little more info...!
What is your complete setup for each xbox 360?

Do you have a router or gateway?

In the meantime, what you could try is seeing if both xbox 360s can see the pc (browse pictures, etc.) thats connected to the 1 xbox 360 through ICS (assuming you are running windows xp sp2 or greater). If the other xbox 360 can't see the pc, then there is a problem with your router/gateway.

What you need is a router.

I recomend a Dlink dir-655 router two 360's can be on at same time with of course different Gamertags.

A Linksys WRT 160N would work too .

Both of these are wireless and are Vista certified meaning they are XBL certified as well.
