Ok, so maybe they deserve (given their track record with live at least) a little slack.....
However, im sure our reaction will dictate how they handle issues in the future. Like the one guy said, in the TOA it states we aren't entitled to anything if we have problems (which IMO is garbage) with a service that we pay for. Sounds like Vista.
Microsoft owns (generally speaking) the computer industry and are starting to take over the video game industry. They are introducing patented technology into certain vehicles. I think i read on here once that they had bought a company that specializes in producing television sets (or something to that effect).
Its clear that they are becoming more active in fields other than just computer electronics and software. But, what happens when they throw their endless abundance of money into those fields? Will we in our lifetime see the first Microsoft car or TV? And when everything has a microsoft stamp on it, and it fails, will we be screwed out of compensation due to the TOA we were forced to agree with due to lack of choice? Im sure when they achieve their empirehood, this is the way it will be....
Trying to recover my gamertag last night was a pain, and i sympathize with the guy who couldnt recover it fully to have the ability to play games offline. After reading a little bit, i saw that it is a windows live, xbox live, and zune problem.....all the eggs are in one basket so to speak. After i googled the error code my 360 gave me when i wasnt able to retreive my gamertag, i saw that it is also used for windows live messenger when you cant sign in. Sound familiar?
This has been happening for a week now. Its still not fixed. If they had it fixed tonight, id expect at least a free week of live. Im in the IT feild as well and i know servers crash. It happens. Why dont they just throw their money at it like they did with the 360 hardware failures? Anyone remember them trying to downplay that until too many people had the same issue and came forward with it? I dont want to be in the microsoft car when the servers go down....
When dealing with a company like microsoft, its important to remember that the past is a blueprint of the future and reaction dictates action (and visa versa), otherwise well be sol due to the TOA...im done ranting
