My console got banned back when they first started doin it.  i let my live go to silver the same month.  2 months later i bought an elite and renewed my gold account.  been playin for months.  still using my premium for some of my backups, i finally got the rrod.  it was a nov 05 xbox.  sent it in.  got it back in december 07, modded it, plugged it in and no worky.  its not banned, i confirmed that with the tech people.  they didnt know what the problem was wither.  but suggested after everything else we tried, try from another persons house.  i never tried, but shoudnt make any difference.  my IP isnt banned cause i can still play with my elite.  its something inside the xbox that isnt matching up with the replaced parts.

when i got my box back, it had a new dvd drive, hitachi 47d, old school drive.  and a brand new mother board.

No this is not possible.  As I explained previously I had two xbox 360's and one would connect and one would not.  Finally sold the box at a huge loss (was honest and sold it saying that it would not connect to Live, even though not banned).  I still like Microsoft but this is really a problem.
