Indigo Prophecy (Farenheit)... I know a lot of peeps never gave that game a chance. I absolutely loved it. I highly recommend to everyone who hasnt played this game to give it a shot. However, besides this game... all the other games I wouldnt waste my time downloading due to the fact that i'm an achievement whore (yea, i know...sorry) and I highly doubt that they will add achievements to the games. even though I dont see it logically as being too difficult a task. Who knows.. has anyone heard about this?

While adding LIVE support to something such as Halo 1 would require reprograming the game- upgrading textures could be a rather simple task. This may improve the visual aspect of original Xbox games.

I like the idea of having downloadable games because the original Xbox spoiled me. I really like the idea of having all my games on the HDD so I can just pick and choose which game I want rather than having to carry a pile of DVDs with me. Granted, due to the DRM scheme, I believe having the original disc is better, but downloadable games are better than nothing.

My dream is that MS will one day allow people to copy their original xbox titles to the HDD, but due to the possibility of "rent game, copy, return" that will probably never happen.

I had an urge to chime in on this one.

Free stuff new features woho smile.gif

But I don't understand the xbox1 downloads.... you can play them already on the 360!?

It sounds like m$ is regretting killing the xbox just a little... or there trying to kill it more by get all the old games off the self to make room for the new.

If the downloads have been significantly overhauld (graphics, new features , live support, achievements ugh) then maybe there worth getting. But I doubt they have been overhauld if they are selling them for $15.

Its like adding GC games on the Wii Virtual Console... there not "classic" and you can already play them on it (if you own it).

It just doesn't sound like a great thing to me. Thats my $.02

ohh goody downloadeal xbox 1 games..... 1200 points? Yeah right I can get some of those games on e-bay for 1-4 dollars.... if all they did was add a emulator to use my own disk on the dash board then I would be okay......

good news.. wonder if their gonna add their iptv service on the fall update

There not, I think it was last weeks major nelson pod cast E said that it wont be rolled out until the service providers (AT&T or whatever is in America) is available to offer the service.

I doubt it will be in a dash update, it will probably be like an installation disk like the HD-DVD drive one but you get it with the service.

When that repair box news had hidden icons it was a mistake, I guess the repair guy got the wrong disk.

To all those wondering, I'm almost positive the downloads will have achievements. I also don't think multiplayer would be *that* hard to implement. After all, plenty of old SNES games, etc, have been available on XBL with not only achievements, but multiplayer as well!

If the game has 2 player support already, online multiplayer is not *that* difficult to implement.

Also consider that if these games are going to costs $15 a piece, then they stand to make a significant profit on something they've already exhausted (I already bought all the old xbox 1 games I wanted by now; haven't you?), so that could be the offset (few extra manhours, few extra dollars).  Even if the games did not include a 2-player mode in them, multiplayer implementation isn't as difficult as you'd think (take a fighter, for example). If a game has 2-player mode, then co-op multiplayer is easy as pie. If it has a "versus" mode, multiplayer is even easier to implement.

wow.... that 120GB drive is sure looking tempting now. Gotta wonder though... how large are these XBOX 1 games going to be... will they be 4:3 ratio or 16:9? The thing I hate about playing XBOX1 games on my 360 is the forced 4:3 ratio.

You must be correct in saying your 360, cos they work fine on mine. Halo 2, GTA vice city, splinter cell pandora tomorrow, crimsons skies. All the original xbox games i've chucked in my 360 are in 16:9, it must be your settings, not that i can think of which one it would be.

So is this downloading of xbox 1 games the only thing new in the update? Cos they didnt mention anything else. I personally dont think its that good, cos i have all the old games i want. I either bought em for $10 or have em on the original xbox's hard drive. 1200 is a bit much. They obviously dont realise how cheap their games are pre owned at EB. Or they do and dont care.

Also, i have carcassone too, and dont play it much. My older bro wanted it. We're not gonna be getting a different game though, that aint the way it works.

Happy Birthday Xbox Live. Many great years of gaming and many to come.

Are you sure about Crimson Skies and Pandora Tommorow? Those games weren't 16:9 on the original Xbox while the other two were.

Meh, I could care less about Divx support or dowloadable xbox 1 games. (Thats what the Xbox 1 with XBMC and 160 gb HDD is for!).

Glad to hear that we will be getting a free arcade game and that the update is finally coming out though.

Just add the map pack for the original halo map to Halo 3.  Or use the same engine and balance of weapons and game physics.

If Halo 1 was released with live I would pay $15 in a heartbeat.  I rather have it on disc being I have a 20 gb hard drive.
