Ok so my 360 got popped for being modded. Goodbye Xbox Live. Now that Halo 3 arrived I decided to give my ol white 360 to my father in law and go out and buy a banging black xbox. Here is the problem am I ok to use the same IP address or is it  blocked along with my ol white xbox? Another thing should I recover my old gamer tag? I am about to move in like an month anyways so if i have to wait to get a new IP address and start from scratch it will be ok.

they only ban the console itself. you are completely safe to use your old gamertag, and your old ip address etc. you can even use the old harddrive if you wanted to.
