"xbox Live Sign Up Is Currently Unavailable. Please Try Again Lat

I bought an Xbox 360 no more than 4 hours ago from EB Games. I tried to sign up with Xbox Live as soon as I got it. I select the GamerTag I want to use (which the Xbox says is available, put in my email address and password (which is tied with a Live Passport) and hit continue. The Xbox thinks for a minute, and then tells me "Xbox Live Signup is currently unavailable. Please try again later." It's been doing this for a couple hours. I've tried it with a hotmail address as well, with no avail. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

No shit Sherlock lol
Well that sucks,I better be fixed by tommorow,When i should be getting my wireless adapter though with my luck it will probably drag on for a good while lol
