Xbox Live/ Internet Problem
« on: May 25, 2007, 12:11:00 PM »

Ok, Whenever I enable ICS (I have to, to be able to get on XBL) I can't get on the internet, but I can get on XBL. So how can I make it where I can have ICS enabled and still be able to get on the internet?

2 nics on your pc ?? or you are using a router ?

If your using a router you should need no ICS at all.

If its 2 nics, then I recommend using nic 1 to your modem with DHCP (auto obtain IP) and then manually set the IP of nic 2 and the xbox.

So,

nic2
ip: 192.168.0.100
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: Make this the Xbox's IP (ex 192.168.0.101)

then set the xbox to

ip: set to whatever (ex 192.168.0.101)
subnet: 255...
default gateway 192.168.0.100

Turn on ICS on nic1 not on nic2. I can't remember exactly, its been awhile since I've done windows networking. Anyhow, I don't trust the dhcp on the 360 for anything other then straight conenction.  This is how mine is setup
