Xbox Live Subscription Refunds?
« on: May 21, 2007, 04:10:00 PM »

Do i take this at face value........? (from xbox website).

Q:What happens if I cancel my Xbox Live Gold Membership?
A: If you have an annual Xbox Live Gold Membership that was purchased with a credit card and you cancel it within 60 days of creating it (based on settlement date when funds were assessed to your credit card), you will receive a full refund. This refund policy applies to Xbox Live Gold Memberships only.

I paid by credit card, less than 60 days ago, so that means i'm entitled to a full refund of £40?
Right?

Why don't you give M$ a call and let us know!

Did anyone get refunds on 1 year plans?

I paid monthly so i didnt care. I only lost like 6 days when i canceled.

Has there been any official reports on how many xbox live accounts have been canceled since the ban hammer?

im pretty sure this is correct, just like any service (cell phone) you should have the opportunity to cancel without being charged

think I'll be doing the same then.

Do you think it is then possible to sign up again with the same card number?

I got a refund post-ban as well.

Good deal.

Should be front-paged, since I'm sure a lot of people bought 1-years in anticipation of halo 3 beta, summer, and halo 3 after summer... and then got banned.

usually they'll have a clause that forces you to wait 30, 60, or 90 days before signing up again.

You get a refund. I signed up for the entire year, paid $49.99 and got banned the very next day !! LOL !!

I called them up and told them I want the money back. They did ask me for a reason, I told them I wasn't happy they were banning consoles (I didn't mention MY console). You aren't compelled to tell them a reason but if you want you can tell them.

Anyway I thought they'd charge me fees for 1 day, but I got the entire 100% refunded. Now I play Halo2 on Xlink Kai for free. If I really like Halo3, I may buy another xbox 360.

I HATE the fact that MS is also disallowing XLink Kai and XBConnect on 360 games. i.e. they are forcing users to opt for THEIR solution. Smells like ... MONOPOLY? They basically check if ping > 33 ms then disable any "lan game". How f****d is that?

That's BS cos even with 100 - 120 ms pings (as seen on live, and xlink kai, xbconnect) you CAN play online. I hate such artificial limitations ...

Will look forward to Fibre to home to allow internet pings in the sub 30 ms range.

Don't suppose you can get a refund if you bought a 12+1 month card?

YES you can. That's what i had. They tried to give me that bs about it being a prepaid card and the retailer got the money and they,Micro$oft, did not. But i called back 4 times and on the 4th time after speaking to 3 so managers i finally did get a refund.

Micro$oft, has plenty money since they decided that we shouldn't have consoles to use thier service don't allow them just to take your money as you idle while saving up for another console. (yeah i said saving up. not all of us can break 300$ out of no where to replace a console)

Kai is such a useless service. Even way back when the only game played was Halo 2 and nothing else. I recently checked it out and there were 12 people playing the 360. lol

System Link was designed for Lan so there is no reason your ping will be that high.
