Just take it easy man.  Dont forget this was all free.  Just think of it as a free trial but at the end you get banned.  Atleast you still have a functional box that could one day run homebrew.  For what its worth, its a nice ride. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

No one said you had to use the modified firmware and if you had bothered to read anything (or used common sense for that matter) you would of known that flashing your DVD drive so it's able to play copied games is not supported by MS.

I seriously doubt Microsoft needed him to "expose" the hack, it's not like they didn't know about it. They have known how to detect it for months (there are many threads about this on the site).

You know, this could be true. Lets think about this for a few seconds and quit jumping down peoples throats. Why did it seem like every time M$ was "up to something" with "dashboard updates", C4E had some kind of intel that only someone working for M$ would have? Example, where the hell was he getting kernals from that hadnt been released yet? The only source of unreleased kernals would be M$.

I can tell you first hand that this it NOT TRUE!  C4E has done a everyone a service and provided that service for free.  I know that at this moment he is looking into things and working on a solution the best he can.  But if ungrateful people like yourself diss him in public maybe he will stop working on it all together.  Then where will you be?

It's only been one week so give the braintrust some time to analyze and figure out what is going on and then come up with a solution IF THERE IS ONE!

I can say right now, that if you are already banned there is nothing the community can do about it.  As with Xbox1 nobody could successfully "spoof" a consoleID.  The console is registered on MS side, so unless you can hack into their systems and remove it there is nothing a FW fix will do.

I think everyone just needs to chill out for a bit.

Uhhh, buying a whole new 360 will also get you unbanned... LOL  Might as well do that if your going to replace the EEPROM and get a matching HDD..

I would go along with everyone else and say that this guy's a complete idiot, but ignorance aside (which his post was very), think about it.

In the latest firmware releases, they actually took out stealth, which left everyone wondering why in the blazes they would do that.  Not even a week later, people are being banned left and right.

On another note, this coincides with bunnie's visit with the live security team.  Ironically, his stated goal was so that eventually microsoft would be a little more open-source with their products.

Definitely not saying this guy is right or anything, but I just find these occurrences coincidental is all.

I read your post and I assume you are implying that doing the same thing on 360 would apply.  I know you can do those things on xbox1 and how much of a pain the ass it is..
