Like me, I'm sure many ppl are considering a second 360 for playing on live. Question is, if a backup game is played on the modded console and Achievements are rewarded on that game, do they still update your online gamerscore? I presume the rewards are stored on the HDD so if the disk is then placed in the "LIVE" 360 will the achievements still be valid? Anyone had a go?

I couldn't agree with you more.  I know since I'll can't play on live, I'll never buy another game again, nor a console.

a second 360 is stupid they probably did this now to inflate console sales to stay on top of ps3 dont let them get the better of you get a ps3 for online play and use your modded 360 to play offline game thus you are costin gthem your subscription fee and arcade games in the future so they lose billions if all banne ppl get a ps3 instead of a second system now who said banning ppl was good business practice? its certainly not an incentive for you to go out and buy originals as its too bloody late.

I bet you next they will be charging you to restore your live service and warning you not to do it again then banning you anyways.

Other people ont he forum say they've taken their now banned consoles HDD and put it on their non-mod setups and connect to XBL just fine, so I think that moving your HDD to one box to the next shouldn't be a problem and you probaly will get the achievement points uploaded to XBL.  Downloaded paid content on the other hand might be a different story.

you people talking about how ms screwed you over or variants of the sort make me laugh.
if you have modified firmware, played on live with a burnt game, then you violated the terms of service that you agreed to when you first connected your system to live.
by that logic, they have the right to do whatever they want, short of bricking your system.be thankful your gamer profile is still good.heck, your ip address hasn't even been banned.
not to accuse the critics, but these firmware mods give you the potential to download and play games for no more than the price of the blank disc.for a while you also had the potential to take your virtually free game on live.the money makers are the games, not the systems.prior to the elite, ms was losing money per unit sold.
again, i'm not accusing anyone of piracy..but that is the deepest detriment to ms that these firmware hacks have caused.
my system has been banned.i knew backups on live wouldn't last forever.i have no complaints with there action because i operated against there policy.there's no reason for me to justify that.its not the "right" thing to do just because i did it.folks gotta think outside of themselves and use an ounce of logic and detract a few ounces of selfishness.

Plus games have been easily ripable for the ps3 for some time now.
