1.6 Power Cycles Continually
« on: January 16, 2005, 10:33:00 AM »

I have an unmodified 1.6 XB which acts like it is going to go into MS dashboard then it freezes and turns off and on and again and it 's continual.

What is wrong with this mobo? I know TSOP can't be flashed on the mobo. I checked out the HD, PSU and DVD and they all seem to work fine.

does it still reboot if u have an original xbox game in the dvd drive at power on ?  ... if not then stick in all of your originals untill one of them has dash update files on it, cos sounds like it might be a currupt c: ... if ya lucky :)

... if it still loop reboots on disc inserted, then i think the only way to diagnose it is get a modchip installed and have a good look at the h/d ... or at this point try another h/d

When I put the original games in it just freezes at loading screen.  So as the last resort, I put in Smartxx v2 in and it freezes at the initial loading screen when it shows smartxx menu except the menu is incomplete.

I can't think of anything else other than it is a blown chip somewhere on the mobo... Can you guys think of anything else?

Doesn't the Star Wars Bonus DVD have a dash update?
