Problems Connecting To Xbox Live (dns Related)
« on: April 20, 2007, 01:56:00 PM »

Hi folks, help need please!

I'm trying to connect to XBox live on my newly purchased 360. I'm using my PC as a Router (Ethernet cable from XB to PC, PC connected to Modem). I had trouble with the IP settings to start with, ended up having to set a static IP and entering it in manually on the XB. This rule out the possibility of using DHCP to find a DNS server. I have tried entering my IP address as the Server both in DNS settings on the XB, also on TCP/IP settings, and also using my default gateway number as the DNS number. I've tried resetting my moden etc. Using the cable that came withit, because i't's not 1997 and if i need a crossover patch cable i'm taking the XB back to the shop.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
