I'm sorry but you guys are retarded. ITS NOT A DASH UPDATE! For fuck's sake. They are hopefully updating the servers so that the Halo 3 Beta can begin. I didn't buy Crackdown for nothin.

I would've assumed you bought it for Crackdown. If you just wanted the *free* Halo 3 beta, you could wait for when it would be out, and RENT the game. Since it's a download, I'm sure it will be launchable from your xbl arcade menu.

I'm guessing they're going to bring more equipment online.

Do you think this has anything to do with modified firmware on peoples drives?

Yes, your Xbox 360 will explode 10 seconds after the update! You better go out and buy those games pretty quick cause after your Xbox 360 explodes, the FBI will notice it and send 23 agents to your door to aprehend everything

or.... everything will just be normal... come on paranoid losers....

I, geist, will be brave to go on live after the this dash update to test if we get banned or not with modded firmware.

you truly are a brave gamer and your sacrifice will surely be rewarded in the next life

The Halo3 Beta was only on specially marked retail releases of Crackdown, which rental places weren't offered. It's all handled through in game menus, as opposed to a XBLive Arcade Demo.

That's not correct.  There are at least two Blockbuster Video stores near my house that have the specially marked release of Crackdown available for rental.  And I know of at least one online video game rental company that also has this release available for rental.

So I got the email from MS regarding this and was like, ya okay, sure whatever....then when the day actually comes, I just happened to have flashed my router with a newer version of dd-wrt and thought that it was the problem....3 hours later, I remember this stupid down time. doh.

it does not really matter, You need the DVD in the drive to play the demo. This is not a dash update, Sever side update, so, no banning. Now that we are really off topic....

My bet is it is the infrastructure for Live for Vista being setup for cross platform gamming and communication. perhaps better communication and performance across the nodes (less lag?), or just new servers?

I agree. . . will the pc halo 2 players be able to paly against xbox users? I hope not, might be some balancing issues there. Also werent there mention of new halo 2 maps or something?

Sorry if I got a bit off topic there tongue.gif

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else noticed that they have lost some of their xbox arcade games from their account? I have lost 3 games i've paid for and it has only been since this live maintenance has taken place.

It's because if/when you bought a new hdd or a new 360 or a new gamertag or anythign that doesnt match with eachother you will HAVE TO ne signed into live to make it work...

Also there WILL be a dashboard update coming soon! maybe not today but it will be there if anybody wanted to know...
