Xbox LIVE Online Gaming Down? *Update2: Services Back Online* Posted by XanTium | December 27 22:03 EST

There are currently no real details yet, but it looks like Xbox LIVE is having some problems right now making online play impossible. Marketplace seems to work fine however. There are tons of reports of people unable to play their games online on the official Xbox forums. The only some-what official information we found comes from a pinned topic on the xbox.com forums: The team is aware of the issue and is investigating. Please try connecting again later. Thanks. UPDATE1: More confirmation/details from Major Nelson (Microsoft's Xbox Live Director of Programming): Yup...we know If you're having some issues connecting to Xbox Live, or getting into a game (matchmaking) the operations team is aware of the issues and are working on it. I'll post an update when I have one. In the meantime, hit the single player campaign of your choice while the team takes care of business. UPDATE2: Major Nelson informs us it's all back online - no details yet about what happened: The team has informed me that everything is back online. Thank you for your patience. I just heard from the Ops team...and we are all set now. They are debriefing now...so I'll see if I can get anything out of e to share on my show this week.

I was playing ddr then I went to eat got back turned my xbox on and it couldn't find matches and I couldn't make one either. But I could log in and it would show my friends that are online etc.

Oh man, so this was the problem! I spent over an hour trying to get Gears of War online play to work (it's my first time using Xbox Live). I thought the problem was with me! I kept thinking I was messing it up. I'm a moron sometime (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Hopefully it will work soon..I didn't spend $100 on an adapter for nothing!

Yeah I was playing Poker online all afternoon, then all of a sudden I couldn't connect to any games.

This would explain it.. though it still kinda doesn't make sense.. but whenever my 360 is connected to live Gears of War single player campain won't work.. I mean i click the difficulty level to start.. loading screen pops up.. back to the GOW menu.. then i try again... same thing 5 times in a row... unplug ethernet cable.. WORKS!!!

BULL. That happened yesterday in Asia. It took THAT long to affect the U.S. network?  

I can't even get into GoW in campaign mode...wussup with that?
