If you can run games from the DVD drive, then you can boot up Slayer's Evox Installer.  You can rebuild the HD from the Slayer's disc.  How did you prepare the HD in the first place ?  Slayer's rebuild option should take care of everything you need.  If that doesn't work, you may have a hardware problem.

If you don't get the software installed onto the HD correctly, strange things can happen.  I mistakenly did NOT use the "Rebuild HD" option on my last box.  I just used the "Install Apps / Evox" option and everything APPEARED to be fine.  However, the unit would freeze whenever I went to run any app or game from the HD.  It gave me headaches until I finally did the "Rebuild HD" option on the Slayer's disc.  I've had no problems since then.

I think I misunderstood you.  From your first post, it seemed to me that the first 2 games you tried to copy to your hard drive caused this problem.  If you've been running apps and games fine for over 1 year and then it just suddenly crashed, it could be a hard drive problem.  What kind of hard drive do you have ?

First off, can you get Evox to boot, either from hdd or from boot disk? If so, you can get ftp access, then just follow this  GUIDE to format your F: drive using ftp raw commands, just a suggestion.......

BTW, the F: drive is partition 6  wink.gif

QUOTE(rtaatgen @ Jan 16 2005, 08:34 PM)
i renember now: just before the crash i had a little prop. i tryed to boot a game (virtua tennis) and my xbox hang. It never did that before over a period of a year. Rebooted the xbox, and try to started the game and it worked, played it for some time, rebooted the xbox, copy the games (no prop), rebooted again, and than the evox dash did'nt came up.

My brother just brought me his XBOX with the exact same problem last night.  He was playing GTA3 and it froze on him.  Then he went to copy 2 of his games on it and its refused to boot after it was done.  Now its booting, but F shows up as 0 as well (and theres nothing in F when I FTP to it).

I dont know the case of the problem, and I still haven't started on the solution, but he told me that he expected to have about 6GB left on the F patition after copying those 2 games.  Perhaps he was mistaken and the games were larger than the partition? I dont know.

Well, I'll let you know if I have any luck recovering just the F partition.

What are you using to copy games?  DVD2XBOX v 0.6.2?  I did that and the same thing happened.  The funny thing is that it works in my computer perfectly, but will not work in my xbox anymore, but other hdd's will!  I even tried to reformat the hdd via an evoxdisc, but it takes a long time to load (slowly fades in for about 6 minutes), then it runs super slow.  But the hdd still works in the computer!!!  Point is don't use this new version of DVD2Xbox.
