Ever since the last update I got (it was after I bought Gears of War and played a couple times) my 360 fails the MTU test! I have not changed my network setup for at least 6 months, so that can not be the issue! Does anyone have any advice?

If I restart all my network equipment, it passes MTU but once it gets to XBOX Live, it fails. Every test after that will fail at MTU until I restart all my equipment. It is not my router that has an MTU problem, as I just checked it (it is a custom linux based router) and it says MTU is 1500 on both interfaces (internal and external)

Basic troubleshooting. Take the router out of the loop and try it then. Just hook the 360 up to the cable modem or whatever you have and reset it. Then once the modem is powered on, turn the 360 on. If it works, It's your router. If it doesn't, keep looking.

unplug your modem and router and then plug in your modem, let it connect, then reconnect your router.
