Hey all, this is my first post here
I just got my Xbox 360 and I'm trying to get onto Xbox Live using a DLink network adapter that uses an ethernet cable (the cable plugs into the xbox, and into the adapter). When i do this and test the connection, it says that I'm on a wired connection and I can't enter my WEP key to get online through my wireless router.
Any suggestions and/or solutions greatly appreciated.
It sees it as wired because it IS wired. I assume from your confusion of the 360 detecting this as a wired rather than wireless adapter, that it is a wireless bridge. In that case you'll need to log into your wireless bridge through a pc connected to the ethernet port on it. Then use it's utility(either cd based or web based) and configure the SSID, Wep key, and ip addressing. Now the bridge should be set up and the 360 will still detect the adapter as wired since it is connected with an ethernet cable (duh) and the bridge should be transparent and you should be able to set up your network that way.
