Help Guys, Im Pulling My Hair Out!
« on: October 14, 2006, 06:14:00 AM »

Hi

Last night i was playing th new Phantasy star beta, all was going well untill i got signd out of live.  Now when i try to sign in i get an error and have to run the tests to see what could be wrong.  Every test passes fine until i get to the Xbox Live test, which fails every time.

I have tried 2 consoles now, on 2 different connctions and both are having problems conncting.  One system is flashed with xtreme 1.0 and th other is flashed with 3.2.

I am using Telefonica broadband as i live in spain, anyone having any problems accessing live today?

Im praying its an ISP problem, any ideas?

i think they said live and xbox.com were gonna be down for 24 hours

Thats Tuesday or Wednesday, i can see friends playing (through MSN and xbox.com), and also friends with flashed FW's.

After doing some searching i found people having similar problems after having a refurbished machine sent as a replacment, unfortunatley no one has posted how there problem was fixed.

Any Refurb owners out there fixed this problem?

By the way mine is not a refurb, it was bought brand new around June.

After digging around and around for the past few hours i am yet to find anything that resembles a fix, although i do find this statement amusing.

A failure on any of these tests will prevent you from signing in to Xbox Live. If your console passes all of these tests and still cannot contact Xbox Live, verify that your account information is accurate and up to date.

Thats the help message i am recieving through both the 360 and xbox.com, how can i check my account status if my xbox cant connect to live?

At the minute, i am rulling gamertag problems out, as i can not connect to live using the troubleshooter, and to use the troubleshooter all profiles must be signed out.

Its really irratating me now, MCE is working fine, my account is still working at xbox.com yet my machine refuses to connect to live at all even after passing all the relevant tests.  Not sure if its normal but i just tried pinging xbox live (65.59.234.161) from a command line and im not recieving any packets back from that either.
If someone could ping that IP with a working 360 Live connection and give me the results it may help me determine wether or not its more likley and ISP problem as opposed to either 360 Hardware or FW related.

if you need to know how to perform this ping, in xp, goto start, Run, type "cmd".  A dos box will appear, then type "ping 65.59.234.161"  It will take a few seconds to perform the request and should give you details back about packet loss and ping to the server.

Thanks in advance!

Pinging 65.59.234.161 with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 65.59.234.161:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

Same results as me, i was thinking with me not being able to ping MS that maybe there was a routing problem.  Guess there aint a problem there, hmm.

Thanks for the help suhailpatel97  smile.gif , much apreciated!
