Last Minute Check Before I Call And Bitch Somebody Out!
« on: October 04, 2006, 09:05:00 PM »

I'm just not seeing how to edit my first post.

Anyway, tonight I borrowed a router from one of my friend's and hooked my 360 up through it.  And I could download content!  ohmy.gif

So now, this means my Internet Connection Sharing is setup incorrectly.  What could be wrong?  Again, I can play games online just fine, but I cannot download content when trying using the ICS?  Is there some firewall restriction blocking me?  (If so, can you describe the changes I need to make?)

Thanks.

Just go direct from the cable modem to the 360..  or buy a router...  or go through the steps for setting up ICS again..

are you running windows XP?

As I said.. if you don't need to use both at the same time.. just switch the cable direct to the modem when you want to download..

Buy a router - ICS blows, slow as hell.

You should be able to connect directly from the wall to your Xbox 360.

DHCP may not work you man need to set the networking parameters manually.

Run ipconfig from a xp dos prompt to see your network settings.

Put those into the 360 manually (IP address, DNS and Subnet Mask)

To clear things up, when you say you can play games ok, i assume you don't mean connected to Live?

Because if you can connect to Live to play games, but not d/l content, then I'd say something is very screwed!!

Unless of course your 360's HDD is full?
