do the tests, verify that your xbox is getting an ip address. look at that ip address and make sure it makes sense and its not 0.0.0.0 or 169.x.x.x. also, the system showing the right time is necessarily a sign of you being connected to the net, i have a modded xbox and a 360 side by side, and i pulled the ethernet cable from the 360 and put it in the xbox to stream some video, and haven't put the ethernet back in the 360 yet, and it still shows the right time since its basing it on the last time it had.

your definately not banned, it has to be an issue with your setup. if your trying to plug directly into the modem, make sure your power cycling the modem because it will keep expecting the mac address from whatever it was last connected to until it loses power. non-matching mac's == non-working internet.

you haven't told us where the xbox live connection tester is failing either, if you tell us that we might be able to provide some more helpful advice.

who voided their warrenty? the thread starter said both 360's in question are unmodded. as such its very likely 1 if not both have never had their case opened up. voiding your warrenty is NEVER going to get you banned from live anyways for any system wink.gif

haha If it did i couldn' get on live with any of my MS box's. The day they start putting tamper reporting cases on is the last time I buy a console. The direct connect is the best way to test. After you powercycle, go to your network settings on your 360 and run the network tests. That will tell us how far you get and what else might be the problem. I'm not 100% sure but I'll bet that the codes share some similarities between the xbox and the 360's so when its all done, push the Y button and post the codes that they give you. Now they might not be the same, but there has been quite a bit of code interpreting from the original xbox and that could also tell us more.

IT fails at X-Box Live.  EVERYHTING confirms just fine, until it gets to X-Box Live then it says "Failed"  I don't see how it can be my setup, I tried everything X-Box Live Support told me, direct connection, through a router, DMZ, a different router, tried it at a different house with a COMPLETELY different setup, router, modem, connection, and I have done that twice.  One thing, NO I have NOT voided my warranty, but I bought the console in February, so it would only be AT MOST 90 days warranty.  Also, the person who quoted me and my sig, I say my XBOX 360 is blocked from Live access, not my account.  I called Microsoft again, and they tried to change my mac address and try direct connection, so obviously something has to be blocking it, and I don't see how the hardware could be the problem, because my friend had the SAME problem on the SAME day and at the SAME time, and we have completely different setups and ISPs.

Well you have obviously talked to MS.

What happened?

They said "live with it" and you said "OK?"

What about trying to clear the cache?  What about trying to create a new silver account?  What about disconnecting the hard drive completely?

Could call your ISP, and see if they are (for some reason or another) blocking any new ports recently to their entire network of customers.  Working for a major auto maker, and having some people work at home, i see this from time to time, ISP will suddenly block certain ports on their network and it could block out some of our users trying to access the companies network via VPN.

Call them to make sure.

got a pic? thats honestly pretty interesting. do you have an xbox1 lieing around the house somewhere? perhaps try connecting from that and see if you have the same problem. also, from what i remember, connecting to xbox live is the first time it tries to make an outward connection. all the tests that its passing is internal stuff (IP address/wire tests/etc.), and it would pass those even if you pulled the modem from your router.

I have the same problem, three Xbox 1's work fine, two 360's on the same network both pass all the tests up to the XBOXLIVE test fails.
None are modded.
These were both working one day then not the next without any changes to network.

Spoke to MS they took me through all tests then told me to try opening ports on my router and calling my ISP.

ISP confirmed that they are not blocking any ports for Xbox Live, this has been confirmed by an ISP forum where people can connect by just plugging in. My ISP issues a standard branded router.

The router I use uses UPNP and I can see the ports opened by the 360, have put the 360 in the DMZ etc and still Live fails.

Back to MS now for some answers.

Have you tried using Xlink Kai to connect. This will at least narrow down your problem to MS live or the port on your XBOX360.

when you get banned from live360 a message pops up and tells you quite specifically you are banned, and a reason.  Like a if its a problem with a CC the popup msg says account suspended due to payment problems, or if ur banned for abuse it says ur banned for abuse.

Did you check your time and date settings? once when the live connect failed for me for some reason the date was wrong on my xbox360...i changed the date and it worked again
