The great news is that Xbox is feeling extra sociable this month and offering European gamers a chance to experience Xbox Live for over a week, absolutely free, from 20th to 29th September, 2006. The free week of Xbox Live is sponsored by Windows Live Spaces. Multiplayer, fully connected gaming action, including the ability to choose from a full calendar of events such as competitions and Game With Fame sessions, is usually only available to Xbox Live Gold members. However, on 20th September at 00.01, Xbox will flick the switch, giving gamers in Europe full access and the chance to see what everyone is talking about, until the free trial ends on 29th September at 23.59. To make sure you can access Xbox Live during the free week, all you need to do is plug a broadband cable into the back of your Xbox 360 console. This will give you the standard Xbox Live Silver membership which will be upgraded automatically on 20th September. Hehe it's funny seeing this all over again (the why don't you Americans get it debate) happened when Europe and Japan kept getting decent special edition Xbox 1's. Hell now there's a PS3 delay in Europe maybe M$ is trying to entice new users were ever they can (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif).

it could be possible if you connected thrugh a pc and your router was connected to your pc you apply a proxy and then connect xbobx360 and then it might work, if anyone tries this let us all know if this works but anywyas beware guys this could also be a trick to ban all the machines playing pirated copiees over the net  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I doubt they are checking IP addresses. Itll probably be the region of the Gamertag plus the region of the console itself or something of that nature.

All I gotta say is that I'd pay $200 / Year for Xbox Live Gold if they charged that much.

Most people on my friends list are on Live 3 times as much as I am so I don't even use it that often... Maybe 6-8 hours/week average.

Live is a bargain at the $49.99 renewal rate (or whatever the exact figure is if I got it wrong). I'm a happy U.S. gamer and think $50/year is a bargain and a half for Xbox Live Gold.

MS is definitely trying to lure new gamers in EU to the Live system - it's a great renewable source of revenue with little overhead costs.

I agree with the others, at a little over $4 per month, Live is really a steal - so much easier to use than XBC or Xlink Kai.  I mean, buy 1 less game per year and get xbox live - if you are too young to earn money, then ask for it as a B-day or Christmas gift...it's worth it...in fact, I have 3 regular paid accounts
