well, you can let his 1 month trial run out and convert to a silver account if you didn't already pay for the subscription with a credit card or prepaid card. other then that, your out of luck. i've heard that for 800ms points (roughly 10 bucks) you can change your name though.

Yes.  I think it IS 800... but it is somewhere around there.
