Xbox 360 error code 80070003: Not Enough Free Space on HD

With all of the new content that has been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace, I noticed that some people are getting the cryptic and mysterious 'Status code: 80070003' as pictured here. This usually means that you do not have enough free space on your storage device. You can easily check how much space you have on your storage devices by going to the System Blade->Memory. You'll see a list of your memory devices, and how much room is available on each device. What you need to do is delete items from your storage device to make room. (Directions on how to do this here). Once you have done that you can go back in to the Marketplace and download the content you'd like.

Why don't we say something simple like 'Your memory device is full'? Got me...but I told the programmers they should change this error to something a little more, well, human friendly.

I agree but why should we have to pay 100 dollars plus for a drive? Plus what is MS going to do for the average gamer who has the 20 gig how are they going to transfer the files from their 20 gig drive to a larger dirve?

I paid for the perm version I've been titering at 6 gigs of free space main my XBLA games and some themes and saves seriously MS should give us a discount when it comes to a hard drive upgrade we forked out 400 dollars for the consle why make us pay 100 dollars plus just so we can store the content we already paid for?

Because with an external usb HDD, you can only play music and look at photos, you can't copy too or from the usb hdd.

Hasn't anyone tried replacing the hdd with a bigger one? what happens if you do? I tried searching, but never found someone specifically saying they did this and what happened.

Anyone ever heard of deleting? I mean come on... why do you winey kids want to keep all of those demos and other junk? I see the 20 gigs as more than enough space but some people want to keep every crappy video, demo and even load the xbox with music and pictures.

with the xbox 360 being a media extender, what's the problem with loading music and photos?

I like to keep demo's because if I get bored of a game, maybe I would like to try that demo that I've played before and was fun.

I have less than 1gig on my hdd left.

You lost all credibility with that statment. DO you know what an extender is? Basically the files are stored on the media center pc and can  be videwed from the xbox. There is no need to keep the files on the xbox...If you don''t have MCE you can still keep the files on the PC and view or play them from the xbox. It will save a lot of space.

I have about 4 gigs remaining but i don't care bcause i will delete all the demos since I don't play any of them or already got the full version.

You have one gig remaining becauae you are trying to download and keep every single demo. That's not what a demo is made for ...it's just a trial and anyone who plays them for long is just cheap. If you like the game go out and buy the full version.
