Connection Problems
« on: August 03, 2006, 10:14:00 AM »

I've just got my 360 a few hours ago and I'm having some problems connecting to Live. Just need to know if it is possible to connect to Live with an ethernet HUB instead of a router.
I changed my 360 IP accordingly so it would pass on that test, then I got a new problem, DNS error. I looked on my PC and got my 2 DNS server IP's and put them into my 360 but it's still getting an error.

Thanks.

Cable modem, no I don't have a router and this is what the connection set up was like, in low mspaint budget edition [PIC].
I ended up connecting my modem to my pc via USB but it's only USB 1.0 and then connecting my 360 directly to my PC LAN card. Worked straight away did that, but I'd like to have it all running through the HUB if that's possible, if not then I'll have to just shut up.

sorry you can't do that.  something has to route the information each device.  Either get a router or hook it up through your pc
