hey, i just got this game on xbox 360, and i was wondering if anybody knew if you were able to play people on xbox live that had the same game, but playing on a regular xbox. is this possible?

I'm pretty sure the original question was if he could play ppl over XBL with his 360 version of the game against ppl with the xbox 1 version of the game. If this is the case, then i don't its possible.
The faq, i believe, is referring to playing an xbox 1 game on a 360 against ppl on an xbox 1 through XBL.
