Ok I bought a Netgear DG632 Router for Xbox Live. I hooked things up all ok and could play games no problem but my NAT status on my 360 was "Moderate", so I found out what ports Live uses and forwarded the ports on my routers firewall. Now ive got my NAT status to "Open"! Good you might say? Well I thought to have an open status was good also but, since its been "open" im getting lag in PGR3 and COD2(But thats not just me lol). When I had moderate NAT status I was able to play PGR3 anytime online! But now most of the time I get "Lost connection to host" error or it lags like HELL while viewing Gotham TV. Also in PGR3 the 3 block connection status while picking a race has gone from being 3 green lines while my NAT was "Moderate" to being 1 red block now my NAT status is "Open". Wtf is going on?

Im on a 2Mb BT Broadband connection btw.

Anybody lend me a quick helping hand please

Sorry for doouble post, I coulnt edit.

Ok this is REALLY strange! I closed/un-forwarded the Xbox Live posts and now my NAT status has gone back to "Moderate".... But im not getting any connection issues anymore! I have 3 green good connection bars in PGR3 and I just connected to a game first time and to add to it, there was not 1 bit of lag!

I am getting things right aint I? Strict status is bad, moderate is ok and open is good?

Hi there iv had the same problem and im using a btwirless router what a load of sh*t i phoned bt up they have not got a clu on what they are torking about iv messed about with the setings in my router and now my nat is set 2 open and it seems fine can u please tell me how u whent about the nat setting change on your router 2 be honest i dount know what i changed i just messed with the router a bit a got it open but not shor how i did it kind regards steven.

Well I forwared ports 88 and 3074 (UDP & TCP) on my router and got the "open" status. And I just un-forwarded/closed the ports and got a "moderate" status. Moderate is MUCH better for playing online than open for me, I dont know why as it should be the other way round. According to MS anyways.

What status have you got? How is things working for you?

Mine is set 2 open and working great at the moment but if its not open i keep gettin disconected from games and market place.

Yea so I guess keep the setup you have now then. If its working fine.......
