hi got a d-link adsl-300t ehternet modem yesterday.It works absolutely fine on my pc but im having an absolute nightmare getting it to work with my xbox 360!.I have it directly connected in the back evrytime i do xbox live test it says ip adress failed and when i look at details it says invalid gateway.I manually entered some stuff in my subnet is the usual 255.255.255.255 and my ethernet modem is 192.168.1.1 so ii put ip adress as 192.168.1.2,but like i say the xbox keeps reporting invalid gateway! please please help!.
it has dhcp server turned on for modem,and do you mean dhcp turned on for xbox as in network settings on 360 having ip adress box set as automatic?,if so i have tried that and it reports back with ip error saying something like

your console was unable to negiotate a lease with dhcp server.make sure adresses are availble on your server.
