Halo 2 Xbox 360 Split Screen?

HALO 2 xbox 360 split screen?
can't change the way it splits the screen.
Me and my friends like to play on the same screen on LIVE and on the xbox 360 it cuts the screen Left and Right.. For the last 5 years playing Halo and Halo 2 we are used to it cutting it up and down. Can you change this I can't figure out how.

Change your video setting to 4:3 instead of 16:9
