I am at work, and just thot of this so I can't actually test it yet till i gets home:

but if you have your new 360 and retrieved your live account, does your xbox still have a live account? I remember that the xbox would only let you have one account on one box.....

would suck if I couldn't play any non BC games on live because of that (not like i would, but it would suck if i couldn't

i'd imagine you can. i haven't had my original xbox hooked up since i got the 360 (only my modded one which i moved upstairs). like you, i'm not at home so can't test it to give a definite answer but I think it would still work fine.

It works just fine for me. When I returned after it crashed went back to my first box and live works just fine. No worries there, didn't even have to do account recovery.

You can still go on live, but you just cant access account settings.
