Hi Guys
Just got my 360 loving it at the moment.
Onto my issue.

I have my pc set up connected to a wireless adsl router a BTvoyager 2091 (wireless) to be exact. I can browse the web just fine and everything is all good.

Now my xbox 360 is in the living room and I wish to connect to is wirelessly i have another adsl router linksys wireless g model WAG54G.

I've connected this to the 360 using the network connecter not the usb one. (i know my technical terms are not all that) Now when i test my connection so I can log onto live it can not find a dns. It finds an IP ok but not a dns.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

so wait ??? you have 2 services of broadband running into your house??? If that's the case you should have used a server and had shotgun routers where you can maximize your up/down from both services as 1...

any way.. if you are using the 2nd routher to talk to the first then that's probably your problem... the router will assign a DHCP address (because it acts as a DHCP server) but if it's not connected to anything it won't pull DNS... thus being the xbox can't not find the DNS name for live... if you are trying to get the routers to talk you should have bought a wireless bridge for the xbox ...

I think it's getting an IP from the router in the living room, you don't want that router to pass out dhcp addresses, disable that feature if you can.  I'm not really sure if you will be able to use this thing as a wireless 'switch' per se...

do you have a wireless network card in your pc (it's wired to the internet router right?)

All i can think of is using ICS on your computer.  have a wireless nic on the pc running on the same subnet as the xbox and give the xbox a static ip and use the pc as a gateway.

you're better off getting a wireless adapter to use the primary internet router.

im pretty sure you have to console into the routers using a rollover cable and set the ip adresses for both routers...or else they wont see each other...im not sure tho im in a T&I class for this stuff and we havent touched much on wireless but form my 4-5 months of this course thats what you may have to do
