First off I would like to state i never really liked the idea of paying for stuff on the marketplace, other than maybe a really good arcade game or two.  But how many of you are purchasing the themes or gamer icons from the Live marketplace?
I for one am not, paying $2-5 for an icon (or theme) seems rediculous. what's everyone else's opinion?

The thing that bothers be about much of it is it's sight unseen(unless I'm missing something). Most of the gamer icons are not previewed on the sight and I wasn't able to find any of the themes previewed. I realy would have liked to have seen what was in the Penny Arcade icons.

I realy would have liked the ability to upload my own user icon(gamer tag icon or whatever they call it). Right now I'm using a dog since I didn't see any fox icons >_<

Nevermind about the penny arcade icons. I broke down and put down(wasted was too strong a word) the 5ish bucks in points for both of the collections. I realy would like to make my own.

Incase anyone else was wondering what they look like.

You can preview some but not all. If you look over the link you'll see that there is no images or link for the penny arcade packs. I belive there may be more missing as well.

One thing I've been wondering...

Are you able to win these M$ points through achievements or unlocking things in games?  Or are they only through purchase?  I think it would be cool to reward players for accomplishments so I'm hoping that's the case...  We pay enough for the system plus games and peripherals that it's almost like nickel and diming us for the little stuff...

Yea I wish I could have something I uploaded... I mean if you had the option, M$ could screen them or something... guess that would take too much effort on their part... but no matter what Icon I pick someone has it... I thought M$ said we could make it our own... yea our own as long as they pick it for us...  

isn't the camera supposed to allow you the option of using a picture of yourself as your pic??? guess we'll have to wait for it to come out to see

Some of the packs you can preview... you just have to wait a moment for them to load.  I haven't gotten any of the single gamerpics to preview, and I'm going to fire an email to Major Nelson about it.  

I love the idea of buying arecade games, but where are you guys getting $5 for a theme? 80 points = $1 ... therefore a 150 point theme is just shy of $2.  And the single pics are just $.25 at 20 points.  I think that's a bit much, but it's not astronomical.  I'd go for a dime per pic and a buck per theme, especially since you can upload your own backgrounds...  I can deal with the $5 arcade games as well.  $10 is getting up there... and I won't pay $15 for any of them, ala Bankshot Billiards.

Wasn't there talk before about users could upload created content to the marketplace??? I don't really care about making money (or points) but It would be nice...

just asking a question here... i can't remember I have read so much on the 360 in the past few months could have just been rumors

I agree other then arcades i wouldnt spend a dime on themes ect waht a waist.....they should give the demos for free also like the pool game im on a dam timer that sucks they sure as hell didnt do that with battle field modern combat WTF .....oh and whats the deal with all the movie trailers it would be cool if you can download a movie id pay for that instead of using my dish.
