Well do you have a hard drive for the Xbox 360 you have, which did you buy premium or core package? If you did buy the one with the hard drive all I can say is, maybe Xbox Live is down or not working right, considering this is a very new console and MS might not have all the bugs worked out yet, just keep trying everyday.
