Xp Sharing Internet With 360...
« on: November 22, 2005, 04:26:00 PM »

I just spent like 5 hours trying to get my XBox 360 to do the same thing, and I figured it out:
First the setup:
Modem->Cable->router(optional)->cable->PC->Cross-over cable->XBox 360
Then keep your XBox 360 at the default settings and set your Internet connection to share to other computers, should be the last tab in the internet connection (or the NIC's) properties window. Then for your Ethernet NIC you want to go into properties and click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and then hit properties below it. Then keep everything set to automatic, but then click on the next tab (alternate configuration) and check off User Configured and for the IP address put in anything between 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 (I think, that's how high it goes) and the mask should just be 255.255.255.0
I understand that I probably explained this in the worst way possible, so post here if you have any questions. I may make a tutorial if I get around to it since this was really confusing, but someone may have already for the old XBox.
