Xlink Problems On Xbmc 11-15-04
« on: November 17, 2004, 09:35:00 AM »

According to the changes in XBMC 11-15-04 you will be able to launch the game straight from the xlink menu with out having to go back to your game directory.  Well mine isnt launching my games it is saying that game isnt found and to launch the xbe manually.

In the Kai Xlink settings (where the username and pass is) you can specify a directory.  If you leave it blank i guess the default is F:/games   ...   well the game i was trying to launch was on F:/games.    and it didnt work.

Can someone tell me how to get it to find your games,   I also have a F:/games   and a  G:/games.

Any help would be great.

I'm sorry i did F:\games,      but if i leave it blank shouldnt it already be F:\games so why didnt it find Halo 2 in my F:\games.......

What do i do if i have f:\games    and  g:\games

do i type out..

"f:\games,g:\games"    or   "f:\games\,g:\games\"

in the directory entry??

Make sure you have a sav of your games, eg. goto Halo 2 and create a profile.

I have the same problem.....xlink won't start any game on my hd and they are all  on my F Drive in the F:\games folder!

Nothing changed after I removed the 0face008 folders from TDATA and UDATA..

Is the F:\games setting in XBMC case sensitive?

Im having the exact same problem.

all my games are in f:/games tried both, F:/Games and F:\Games

nothing worked. i completely erased the tdata and udata saves. cleared out the old xbmc folder and started from scratch.

i have numerous profiles in Halo2 saved and still nothing shows up in the games list for xlink Kai and it doesnt load off the hdd.

when i join  a halo 2 game in xlink kai in xbmc, it says it cant auto find the game and to manually start it, i do this and goto syslink in the game and nothing shows up.

can someone give a good step by step guide on whats going on? or maybe 11-15 release of xbmc saves something somewhere else?

a bunch of other syslink enabled games do show in xlink kai, those launch fine but wont join the seleccted match.

also the kai engine is running fine on my pc and has been running straight for about 2 days just so i could make sure network was reachable.

long post i know smile.gif

Not sure if the trailing slash matters since Jaydee didn't include it, but I can confirm that f:\Games\ works..  (Case does not matter)

hey guys,  UPDATE!!

I updated my xbmc  ..  to build 11-16-04, did the following steps and it worked.
intructions:
- delete xbmc directory on xbox
- delete the 0face008 folders from the tdata and udata folders
- important delete xbmc save data (i just went to my m$ dash  save    games section and erased it there.)

- ftp xbmc new build
- go to xlink options and enter your username & pass
- enter F:\Games

Thats it...   i think my problem might have been in not deleting the xbmc saved information.  (under game saves in m$ dash)

After i did all these steps i went to xlink selected a halo 2 arena, clicked play button and my game launched, i went to sys link and there were 4 games ready to play, w/ no flickering...      talk about good luck!!!

I havent tried any other games only halo 2 but i will when i get home from work...

thanks guys! biggrin.gif
