Sharing Data from PC to Xbox 360
« Reply #90 on: February 06, 2007, 07:42:00 PM »

i had major problems with sharing the content on my pc. i have gigs of vids and pics and music but was only showing 32 video when i have hundereds. the reason for this is the 360 only supports one or two type of media main three wmv wma and mp3 so anything other than these and possible a couple more will not be found. i have looked all over and have seemed to have found a solution as mentioned earlier here

Just got the XBOX360 yesterday and was loooking to see what options I had with Win2K server and streaming .. Stumbled across

http://www.tversity.com/

Works fine as a picture, music server to the Xbox biggrin.gif  install was a dream .. simple

Have not tried Movies yet, however thats what it was first created for so should be OK ..

Also offers web media options ie can stream pics, music from the web..

Hope it helps some others who may not be able to run the MS offerings

TVersity lets you play almost any thing and gain access to almost anything. rule of thumb is if you can play it on WinMP11 you can play it on your 360.

hope this helps as it helped me

I have seen this question around , on how will the X360 connect to your PC and Share the Compatible data. I heard some say that you must have a Windows Media Center PC , thats false , you can use any Windows XP based PC.

Facts Sheet
And if you have all the updates including SP2 on WinXP Pro or Home editions , you might notice an Icon called Windows Media Connect located in your Control Panel.

This site you can get a FREE XBOX 360 real easy!

So i guess this will also be used with XBox360 and be able to share your data with the console.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

try TVersity - http://www.tversity.com/home instead of Media Centre. Transcodes as it streams from your PC... also lets you add RSS, Audio and Video feeds and internet URLs including Internet TV

i had to use this s Im running Server 2003 which isn't compatible with Media Centre

hope this helps a bit

How is TVersity working out for you?  I downloaded it but there seems to be a learning curve with the program.  How do you have yours set up?

Sharing Data from PC to Xbox 360
« Reply #95 on: May 12, 2007, 09:37:00 AM »

Since the spring update 2007, the xbox360 do not find any shared videos on my pc.  It says "No video found" when I connect to the computer.  The pictures and musics still works.

I use Windows Media Connect, I have also try with Tversity, and I got exactly the same problem.

Anyone in the same situation ?

Some help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Do you really need the router to have them connecct to each other?
Can't I have my pc and the 360 connect directly by ethernet cable?
