Did you make sure you removed any VIA drivers before you even started any of this?

There may be some info in THIS thread that may be able to help you. It is for a Liteon but the same thing should work on your BenQ.

BenQ drives are the easiest drives there is to flash. I do believe you over analyzed the process and made is harder than it needed to be.

tried a floppy, said not a valid system disk or sumthin.... it had stuf fon it, i took all teh old files of,f does it need the system files or whatever

any1? what all files do i need on the floppy? and do i need ot format as a ms-dos bootable?

i got it all workin now, had a bad floppy, formated a different floppy for ms-dos, put my modded FW and the dosflash.exe on it, rebooted,
 at dos I typed dosflash.exe, and followed the easy steps. same thing i did for liteon last time, so same thing 2/2 now, so now my plan will be use JF just to spoof keys, the erase/write/ with dosflash.
