Difference Between 8498 And 8955 Kernel

I have a HDD with 8955 kernel installed.. and a 360 with 8498 kernel...

if I use this HDD on the 360 .. it'll automatically update itself.... I cud use hddhackr to format it.. but is it worth it?

just asking this because i am just a little optimistic about a future exploit for 8498 ...

Also, I have another board (just the MB).... not exploitable.. is there anything that I can do with that?
