You're right - you shouldn't be getting E71 after zeroing out the specified secdata.bin areas. This would only happen if there was no copy left available. If you're using findsecdata to extract older copies, this shouldn't be a problem.

I'm going to read off the eprom after getting the error and view it in 360HDFR to see whats actually left on the chip. I'll post up what I find.
