Been seeing these lovely alternative boots for the xbox360 but cant find a good guide to do it.

I have a spare machine I want to run homebrew alternative dash & run my backups from exteral media but not really sure where to start. I fully capeable of following guides having modified all available consoles to date so just need a bit of a pointer. Im not using live on this xbox so just want to have a spare offline machine to play around with.

Any guidance very much appreciated thank you?

Thank you once again for the above links they were just what I wanted.

Couple of noob questions still though.

I have a handfull of xbox's with duff & lost drive keys so unusable at the moment.

If I was to jtag these machines would they indeed be usable once again via an external HD for game backups and various emulator fun?

as long as there able to run xell you can use that to retrieve you cpu key and then use it to decrypt your key valt and get dvd drive key there are post in the hacking forum for the 360 on how to do this .

Ahh right I see, i didnt expect to be able to get the drive key so that would be a bonus.
