New Release Won't Play Music
« Reply #15 on: October 13, 2004, 02:34:00 PM »

Hello again Bobbin007,
I use XBMC off of the E: drive. Evox is currently my dash and I run XBMC from there (not converted to dash after I upgraded from XBMP). My music is in a folder on F: (called "Music). Will try a few videos tonight. (My main use is for music and so didn't have any on the harddrive earlier.)

Diontae18,
Thanks for all your help so far. It should have worked, I know... Not having changed BIOSes for a while (a year?) I can't remember what BIOS I am using, but will check tonight. (It's an Xecuter though.)

Nimbles,
I got the file from the sourceforge link you gave me. The few times when it hasn't timed out I have tried the first (download) link on top - this only reloads the page with all the version on it. When clicking the (download) link under Revision 1.135, a save box opens up and it gives itself the filename mplayer.135 (this file is 5,428kb in size).

Will update once I get back within striking distance of my box. (Will give me something to do while the two prez-wannabe's are talking.)

No X-Ace, you have to compile the mplayer file. For more info Go Here

Thanks Diontae,

While I haven't compiled anything since I did Cobol in the 90s, I hope I can figure it out.

Out of curiosity why doesn't this have to be compiled via XDK? Is that only for xbox executables?

So Cobol was easier....

Currently getting some problems when checking out the source.
I posted the error in Jaydee's thread.

While working on compiling my mplayer:

BIOS 4983.06
Slayer says I have a 1.00.4983.06 kernel.
I boot from C:

AVIs and DVD rips will play images fine but the soundtrack comes out as garbled as the music files do. Again, if I go back to the one-oh release, everything plays fine.

Fun as it was to compile my owm mplayer.dll (thanks jaydee & Bobbin) it unfortunately did not solve my issue.

Still stuck.

Audio works in other apps and games. In deed, it even works in earlier version of XBMC (notably the one-oh release).

Tried it. Still the same problem.
As always, this works for me in the 1.0 release.
(I add that only to prove I'm not crazy.)
