I agree with Ranger on everything he has said. I got the Blaster a long time ago for ripping and have never used it for flashing. I have heard it was bad for that. I have the Pro V3 and it works like a charm and makes life easy. Sounds like you are doing your research though which is key in keeping up with all this as it changes daily....

i have this drive now: SH-D162C

Works like a charm.
