Do you need a Connectivity Kit on All, or just some of these drives, and how can I tell exactly which drive I have?

you only NEED an connectivity kit if you have a liteon drive, but they make it easier on all drives really.

Okay, the wires are yellow. I guess I have a Lite-On.

I keep hearing about drive switching. Do I have to buy a new drive since I have a Lite-On, or does this connectivity kit just spoof the Lite-On's firmware?

The kit just helps you connect to drives and connect them to your PC.  You need to use specific utilities to "spoof" and modify any firmware as well as extract information from the drives.

So do I need the Connectivity Kit, and the Probe too?

I just bought a VIA VT6421A, and since I installed it my computer freezes on start up. What should I do?  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

The best response will probably come from the company that makes your card (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yea. But I was just hoping someone had the same problem before, and knew how to fix it. I was guessing it had to be close to common sense the Via is the most popular for modding.
