I have USB Hard Drvie with Movies ....  I also have MS PSO converter plug which goes into Memory SLot on controller and allows me to hook up usb keyboard, usb memory stick....    if I hooked up USB Hard drive could this be added to XBMC to see and play movies bypassing PC or DVD drive?  <

what about a slayders disk formating a hd and then putting that hd into the usb  external inclosures?  <

xbmc doesn't have support for usb harddrives so it will not work. Your best bet for that is to install linux which has full support for usb devices. This way you could mount the harddrive and play your movies from it with mpayer and your mp3's using xmms but xbmc is not going to work with that device as it is and I wouldn't expect support to be added. Simply formating the harddrive to fatx would not be enough to make it work in xbmc.

Yeah if you have the usb harddrive connected to the pc and share it as an smb share then you can get it to work fine with xbmc which is your best bet. Otherwise you won't be able to really connect it straight to the xbox unless you do some messing around with linux. That network shared harddrive thing looks pretty cool and would be a pretty cool network file server type thing.  <

As YnfinitY has given you the link, I have 2 usb drives (200gb+250gb)sitting on this unit, supplying 3 modded xbox's (trying to get it to run a kiss dp500 as well??) all working fine for a (£60 uk) device , a very simple solution to smb all your media and very easy to setup. :rolleyes:   <
