Dvd Of Mp3's. How Can I Rip Direct To Hd?
« on: October 01, 2004, 06:42:00 AM »

Hi.  I have a crap old chip that won't allow me to ftp to and from my pc.  My question is this....

If I burn a dvd containing just mp3's, is there any xbox software out there that can then stick them on my hard drive for me?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

Cheers.  <

Thanks.  Is it only possible to install media centre via ftp as I have just realised I only have media player.  I have media centre downloaded on my pc but don't know whether I can just burn it and install it that way.  <

not that simple- basically if you don't have ftp access and you don't have the audio cd then you can forget about adding music in that way

if you have the audio cd's rip using the m$ dash, if you have ftp, then xboxsoundtrackeditor or xboxvirtual cdripper (but not with xbmc, use evox)

this is because of the way the m$ dash rips the inof of the music and stores it in a .db file

it may be possible to add manually but you'd need,
1) understand the naming conventions
2) an app to edit the .db file
and this to me seems almost impossible without ftp access  <
