Hello there,

Sorry if this is a bit of a newb question but ive been searching everywhere and i cannot find anything on swapping dvd keys around, only upgrading fw.

My problem is, i have two 360's, both hitachi drives but one is no longer working and the other xbox yeilds an E74. Is there a tutorial out there that will tell me how i can extract the key off one drive and swap it into another.

I could do with alot of detail here as ive not really much experiance, could do with names of programs to use and such.

The software you need is firmwaretoolbox, the latest version is 4.6, grab it from Xbins.
What firmware versions are the 2 hitachi drives? If they are v78 or higher they will need to be able to read a disc in order to dump the firmware.

This is where i get stuck, ive no idea what fw they both have.

Isnt there a step by step tut out there on this?

The firmware is listed on the white sticker on top of the drive.

yes you can if there the exact same model and firmware other wise you would have to spoof the firmware
