Via Vt6421 Pci Sata Jnstallation Help.
« on: February 02, 2020, 06:41:00 PM »

hey guys need some help on getting the hitachi drive detected on my computer.

i just installed rosewill rc212 VIA VT6421 PCI SATA card into my computer. the slax cd is in. the hitachi 47dh drive is connected via sata to it and powered on. once the computer starts up it just brings me to a VIA black screen and i see the drive listed there but its not booting using the windows os system or from the slax cd that i have in the computer drive.

i think im missing a step after installing the pci sata card. i did install the driver cd in windows but i think it needs to somehow link up with my current OS. setting up raid arrays? the little booklet that comes with the sata card saids to hit tab to get into the raid bios but nothing happens. the only keys i have access to when accessing the bios is f1 for setup and esc for boot menu. f1 does not show anything about setting raid arrays.

help on instaling the sata card? thank you.

ok i decided not to use the via pci card and just take a chance plug it into the sata port on my mobo. anyways i followed the instructions and succesfully flashed it according to the screen. but when i attempt to insert a backup (verbatim disk) game it saids unplayable disk. i tried two different backup game and they both give me unplayable disk?

update: after doing a little searching on your forums, i found out about the verbatim made in india disks and that they give a lot of errors including "unplayable disk". can i get a confirmation on this because my verbatim pack that i brought, 6x is made in india.

Which firmware did you use? What method?

Also, have you confirmed that your backups are fully stealth patched?

i am using iXtreme1.2_Hitachi_Sense_Fixfw for the hitachi 47dh drive.
i used the textbook tutorial for the hitachi drives.

i use xbc to check the images and they all pass the stealth checks.

the orignals plays fine.

should i attempt to reflash, change to a diffrent brand, or purchase a pioneer 112d drive?

ok i decided to try a different firmware, i restored it and attempt to flash again via command window. here is the log

the one thing that i noticed is the "DeviceIOControl() failed 0 failed to execute flasher " which i got for both C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth and iXtreme1.2_Hitachi_Sense_Fixfw. could that have anything to do with me not being able to play my backups?

both flash attemp "pass" according to the screen using both firmware and they both allowed me to play my originals and not the backups.

i decided to order the pioneer 112d hoping its my burner and not the media or flashing. any other ideas on what could be wrong? thanks!

Try using IMGBurn to write your disks - I use it all the time without any problems. The latest version supports .dvd files, so it will know about the layerbreak too.

This is all I can think of with this error, unless you can confirm 100% that these discs work on another 360?

i burned these disks using imgburn and clonecd as mentioned in the textbook tutorial. stealth check passes. i do not have access to another flashed 360 to test out the media.

btw which one is the better firmware to use for the hitachi 47dh drives.. C4EVA_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_4_Stealth or iXtreme1.2_Hitachi_Sense_Fixfw?
